Russo is perhaps best known for leading the corporate turnaround of KMart Australia six years ago, turning a retailer which was on the brink of collapse into one of the largest and most profitable retail department stores in the country.
He has been a member since 2006 of the Young Presidents Organisation, a US-based global leadership community of chief executives with 29,000 members.
He has consulted to business in China and Asia, served as a member on the Business Council of Australia, and won industry awards for leadership in diversity in employment.
Jurlique welcomes new senior leaders
Australian natural skin care company Jurlique has announced two new changes to its senior leadership team.
Olivier Duvillard (pictured) has been appointed general manager of Australia and New Zealand, and Marion Goyet is to be the director of consumer marketing.

Entering the Jurlique business during the current retail climate that no-one could have predicted has provided an immense opportunity to lead our brand with fresh strategies and tactics that may not have been practiced within the business before,” said Duvillard.
“The opportunity to secure Jurlique as the original Australian leader in advanced natural skincare and work closely with internal and external stakeholders to propel the business to new levels is the imminent goal.”
Duvillard has held numerous senior positions in Australia with high-profile skincare companies, including Ultraceuticals, L’Oréal’s luxury products division and Elizabeth Arden.
Goyet, who is from France and speaks four languages, has significant global experience in skin care.
Metcash chooses new CFO
Metcash, Australia’s leading wholesale and distribution company, has appointed Alistair Bell as Group CFO, replacing Brad Soller, who is retiring.
For the past 10 years, Bell has been CFO of Graincorp, where he oversaw finance, treasury, corporate development and strategy functions.
Prior to that he held a number of CFO, COO and strategy positions with public, private equity and multinational companies spanning various industries.
Bell will join Metcash on September 1 and will take over the CFO duties following the release of the company’s half-yearly results on December 7.
