Moschino collectionItalian luxury fashion label, Moschino, has cashed in on the popularity of an unusual style icon for its Spring 15 collection – Barbie.

Moschino designer, Jeremy Scott, has put together a capsule collection of flamingo coloured, Barbie-esque fashion staples, now available for sale in Moschino, Nordstrom, and Selfridges, and online with the total Barbie inspired collection to be sold from early next year.

The 28 piece edit includes t-shirts, bags, jumpers, headbands, and a pink iphone cover resembling a hand mirror, and has generated significant mainstream and social media coverage for Moschino.

The collection was unveiled at Moschino’s runway show this month, and follows on from Scott’s outlandish fashion take on fast food for Moschino’s Fall 14 range.

While Barbie and her maker, Mattel, don’t appear to be affiliated with the collection beyond being its inspiration, it is just another example of how brands and fashion labels are taking up the trend of partnerships.

Earlier this year we saw a fashion tie up between FMCG goliath, Coke, and nail polish brand, OPI.
