The Galeries to launch Spring Social

rsz_n2Sydney shopping centre, The Galeries, is set to launch its inaugural Spring Social, running over a period of four days from Thursday September 24, to Sunday, September 27.

Marking the turn of the season, the venture will see the transformation of the retail space into a colourful domain of cultural experience, featuring a variety of art installations, food and beverage offerings, and retail opportunities.

To launch the festival, an 8m-tall light installation, Skyblossom, will take over the central void, an artwork inspired by the cherry blossoms of Japan’s Matsuri festival.

Food and beverage offerings will be mostly relegated to the ground floor, with a slew of outlets creating pop up stores for the occasion including a joint venture between bakery, Black Star Pastry, and ice cream retailer, N2 Extreme Gelato; as well as a presence by Sydney’s handcrafted donut delivery service, Grumpy Donuts.

In conjunction to this, the ‘Arthouse’ pop-up bar will be serving alcoholic beverages against the backdrop of daily performances by singers and musicians.

Existing retailers will also be getting involved in the festivities, with the recently opened restaurant, Yayoy, hosting Sake barrel and tasting sessions, and dumpling eatery, Lotus, to serve its bespoke lo-tea.

A curation of digital activities is also planned, including an animated ‘GIF Booth’ operating on level 1.
