The signing with Warung Sentral Sdn Bhd in Malaysia is part of The Coffee Club’s international expansion focus that aims to see at least 10 The Coffee Club stores across Malaysia by 2017.

The Coffee Club currently has 66 international stores with 46 in New Zealand, 12 in Thailand, three in China, three in Egypt, one in the Maldives and one in New Caledonia.

Jason Bell, CEO of The Coffee Club, said the Malaysia signing was an important milestone for the future growth of the brand internationally.

“The Coffee Club currently has a presence in seven countries across the world and the Malaysia signing is an important step forward in the future growth of the brand,” Ball said.

“Asia represents huge growth potential for The Coffee Club brand and we are excited by the new Malaysia venture.

“This is a very significant time for The Coffee Club as we expand our international footprint. It follows the signing of a deal between Minor Food Group and Al Nasser Holdings to expand the brand into the Middle East and North Africa and the successful opening of the first The Coffee Club store in the Maldives in early July by Minor.”

Store rollout plans for the country are still being finalised but the first The Coffee Club store in Malaysia is expected to open in December 2013.
