Target confirms big names for runway

Target VAMFF_Dannii Minogue and Jess MauboyTarget has today announced Australian pop-stars Jessica Mauboy and Dannii Minogue will represent the retailer at the Target Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival (VAMFF) runway, on Wednesday 9 March.

The Target runway will kick off with a preview of the Jean Paul Gaultier for Target collection, followed by a showcase of Target’s mainline range and other Designer for Target collections.

Target ambassador, Jessica Mauboy, will perform two songs and be joined by models of ‘all ages, shapes and sizes’ to showcase the Target collection.

Entertainer and designer for Target, Dannii Minogue, will model on the Target runway to showcase her Dannii Minogue Petites for Target range.

“Jess and Dannii are two of Australia’s favourite stars and we’re thrilled to have them as part of the Target family and on our runway this year,” said Target Australia MD, Stuart Machin. “The Target runway will be fun while featuring on-trend Autumn Winter fashion for women, men and kids; showing our customers how to achieve designer looks without the designer price tag.”

Machin says it’s important for Target to ‘be inclusive and accessible to all Australians. “Our runway will also reflect this vision,” he said.

Minogue says fashion is about wearing clothes that fit well and make you feel good. “Target was the first to have a troop of petite models showcasing affordable and immediately available quality petite items – this is a first in Australia for sure. I’m so thankful for their support and love their enthusiasm to be inclusive and break down fashion barriers.”

The VAMFF program takes place on Wednesday 9 March at 6pm, in the Royal Exhibition Building, Melbourne.
