SA icon lands in Sydney

South Australia’s family-owned Coopers Brewery has opened a new Coopers Alehouse at Sydney Airport’s T2 domestic terminal.

Opened this week, it is the second Coopers Alehouse to be located at an airport, with the first being based at Adelaide Airport.

The new Coopers Alehouse will be operated by the Emirates Leisure Retail Australia, owners of Hudson’s Coffee and various other bars and cafes at major Australian airports. It will offer Coopers products exclusively.

Coopers Brewery chairman Glenn Cooper said he was thrilled to bring the iconic Coopers brand into Australia’s busiest airport terminal. coopers

“We saw this as a fantastic opportunity to put the Coopers name in front of vast numbers of travellers from all over the country.

“Now with the opening of our second Alehouse, we are currently considering similar future projects.

“This is an exciting development for the entire Cooper family and we couldn’t be more proud.”

Andrew Gardiner, Sydney Airport GM Retail, said it was a “natural fit” for Australia’s busiest terminal to feature an iconic Australian brewery.

“Offering great choices, convenience and providing a pleasurable travel experience to customers is at the heart of our retail strategy. Coopers Alehouse will provide another sensational dining choice to travellers, further cementing our commitment to the expansion and revitalisation of T2,” Gardiner, said.
