Twenty-something billionaire Kylie Jenner Kylie Beauty CEO bows out after six months Incoming Kylie Beauty CEO Cristoph Honnefelder has decided to step down from the role he took less than six months ago, before he had even officially assumed the position. Coty’s president of luxury brands, Simona Cattaneo, will take over from him, Newsweek reports. Honnefelder was formerly executive VP for assortment and purchasing and a member of the executive committee at Douglas, a leading European special
ropean specialty beauty retailer.
The change represents another leadership shakeup for Coty, which announced earlier this week that it will appoint current chairman Peter Harf as CEO, making him the fourth leader of the cosmetics company in as many years.
Founder Kylie Jenner (pictured) sold 51 per cent of her company to Coty in November for US$600 million.
Coty said in a statement that Honnefelder had told its senior leadership team he would not assume the position, before a controversy erupted, led by Forbes magazine, over her billionaire status and the company’s value.
Change of CEO for Tommy Hilfiger
Daniel Grieder has stepped down as CEO of Tommy Hilfiger Global and PVH Europe after 23 years in senior roles in the company. He will be replaced by Martijn Hagman, effective immediately.
PVH Corp, a US clothing conglomerate, owns the Tommy Hilfiger and Calvin Klein brands, among many others.
Hagman, a 12-year veteran of the Tommy Hilfiger leadership team, was most recently COO and CFO of Tommy Hilfiger Global and PVH Europe.
He says he plans to continue Tommy Hilfiger’s product- and digital-led strategy as he takes the helm. Grieder will work alongside the new CEO over the coming months to support a smooth transition period, Essential Retail reports.
Sainsbury’s board gets revamp
UK grocery giant Sainsbury’s new chief executive, Simon Roberts, has announced two key changes to the company’s operating board.
Clo Moriarty, previously chief digital director, will take on the new role of retail and digital director. He has been at Sainsbury’s for 10 years, most recently leading the business’s digital strategy.
Chief marketing officer Mark Given has been promoted to sit on the operating board. He has been with Sainsbury’s for seven years in senior marketing roles.
The appointments are effective immediately and were announced on June 1, the day when Roberts took over the CEO position from Mike Coupe.
