Underscoring the lack of supply of large format retail space across the country, 630,000 square metres of large format space at the soon-to-be-former Masters Home Improvement sites has already been committed to by a collection of large format retailers. Home Consortium, the newly formed group that includes aged care start-up Aurrum Group and the families behind Spotlight Group and Chemist Warehouse, secured the Masters property portfolio for around $725 million and plans to develop the bulk of the sites into internal malls housing between four and six large format retail tenants.
