Preview: Inside Retail Weekly 2088

Screen Shot 2016-04-19 at 9.49.07 AMA sneak peak at what’s featured in tomorrow’s issue of Inside Retail Weekly….

This week in Inside Retail Weekly we take great pride in announcing the finalists for the inaugural Retail Customer Excellence Awards, an initiative of Inside Retail and Association and Communications Events. We had a great selection of entries from across the Australian retail sector, and judges were hard-pressed to narrow down the shortlist of finalists. The Retail Customer Excellence Awards climax with a gala dinner and awards ceremony at The Plaza Ballroom in Melbourne on Wednesday May 11. We look forward to seeing you there.

While on the topic of award-winning Australian retailers, this week in News we also chat to Julia Stevanja, founder and CEO of online fashion disrupter, Stylerunner, who late last week pipped a top international field to take out the Young Retail Entrepreneur Of The Year Award at the World Retail Awards in Dubai. Also in News, we cover the launch of a local Debenhams e-commerce site and the impending opening of local bricks and mortar stores by the leading UK department store chain.

In Opinion this week, we weigh in on the thorn in Wesfarmers’ side – Target – and how the DDS chain’s fudged half-year accounts debacle marks the recurring of an unwanted theme for Wesfarmers.

From The Source this week features an in-depth chat with SumoSalad CEO, Luke Baylis, about, amongst other things, the healthy fast food chain’s Green Label store concept, Eataly, and the changing composition of shopping centre food courts.

You’ll find all of this, and much more, in Inside Retail Weekly Issue 2088.
