Officeworks opens latest store in Adelaide CBD

officeworks visual merchandise stationeryOfficeworks has opened its 164th store in the heart of Adelaide’s CBD earlier this week.

The new store features the retailer’s full range of office supplies, technology and furniture products, along with an extensive range of Print & Copy services and Mailman parcel delivery service.

To mark the opening, the Adelaide CBD team will be donating $2,000 to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island student support organisation, Wirltu Yarlu, as well as $2,000 to homeless community organisation, Hutt Street Centre.

The charitable presentation will take place on April 11 with Officeworks managing director, Mark Ward and newly appointed store business manager, Tanya Close, presenting the cheques alongside the Lord Mayor of the City of Adelaide, Martin Haese, at the ceremony.

“It has been great to see the positive reaction from locals since announcing we were opening in the city,” Close said. She added they were really looking forward to introducing locals to their wide range of products, great service and everyday low prices.

The store opening comes after the stationery retailer’s parent, Wesfarmers, recently announced it is looking to divest of the brand.

Since Wesfarmers acquired Officeworks in 2007, the business has successfully executed a turnaround plan, more than doubling its earnings and improving its return on capital from 5.7 per cent in the 2009 financial year to 13.9 per cent in the current period.
