NORA elects new non-executive directors

online shopping, e-commerceThe National Online Retailers Association (NORA) has elected new non-executive directors during its annual general meeting in Sydney last week.

Nathan Huppatz, co-founder of and; Peter Mitchley-Hughes, general manager for omnichannel transformation at Myer; and Andrew Smith, director for retail operations for Telstra have been elected as NORA’s new directors.

“We are excited to be working with this dynamic new group and look forward to benefiting from the collective and varied experience they will bring to our organisation,” said Paul Greenberg, CEO and founder.

Huppatz started in online retail in 1999, moving from corporate e-commerce to private business where he turned Tacklemania in 2004 from a small eBay store into a multi-million online business that expanded to a physical retail presence before being sold in 2010.

Mitchley-Hughes, a finance trained business executive with 19 years experience in blue chip organisations covering FMCG and retail, has account­ing and MBA qualifications and expertise in business transformation, opera­tional efficiency, organisational change and large scale program delivery.

Smith leads the central support and operational strategy functions of Telstra’s retail business involving over 400 branded retail locations. Smith’s key role is to sponsor and develop Telstra’s Future Retail Environment pro­gram.

Greenberg also thanked outgoing directors and friends Ben Hare of Tiny Me, Jethro Marks of The Nile, James Webber of Henslow for their “valuable contribution to the association”.

“We find that our retired directors maintain strong links with NORA and continue to advocate for our organisation and I’ve no doubt that this group will be no different,” Greenberg said.
