News agency marketing group, Newspower, will launch new concept stores in targeted locations to attract younger shoppers.
The first NewspowerGo store will be opened in Sydney later this year, with stores in other areas and states already in the pipeline.
“Many Australians purchase from newsagents now but there’s a lot of competition in the retail space and we have to look to the future for our market share,” said Helen Dowling, Newspower national manager.
Dowling said the NewspowerGo newsagencies will be designed and fitted out to attract Generation X and Millennials through bold colours, instore signage, digital displays and on-trend products.
“Once those younger cohort of 20-50 year old shoppers are attracted in to newsagencies they will relish the product ranges, prices and friendly local service and we’re confident they’ll become loyal to NewspowerGo,” she said.
As part of the launch of NewspowerGo, Newspower newsagents across Australia has adopted a new branding, a fresh new look including external and internal signage, uniforms and in-store collateral is being rolled out.
“We have undertaken significant research across our industry and we’re taking steps to ensure the future of Newspower newsagencies across Australia,” Dowling said.
