New Popai board appointed

Popai Australia & New Zealand has announced its new board of directors for the forthcoming two years.

The new board comprises:

· Jeff Gittus – Active Display Group
· Sarah Nichols – Brown Forman
· Anthony Steel – Frank Steel Displays
· Debbie Schubert – PepsiCo Australia
· Michael Cowdroy – Dynamix
· Martin Quinn – Economics Group

An election of the new office bearers for chairman, vice chairman and company secretary will take place during the board meeting on 8 September.

Outgoing chairman Phil Smith says Popai is well positioned for the future.

“The chapter is in good hands and in an excellent position to grow the relevance, importance and share of marketing at retail initiatives. I look forward to seeing and hearing of future developments and triumphs.”

GM Karen Spear says the board elections mark an exciting period in Popai’s growth.

“I would like to thank our outgoing chairman Phil Smith, who is leaving due to work commitments, for his tireless contribution over the past six years, and Dale Rees who has given 10 years of service to the board including a chairmanship from 2003-2005.”

“It’s an exciting time for Popai. Now that our scope has expanded to become the national home of Shopper Marketing as well as our core role as the peak industry body for POP and retail marketing, I am looking forward to working with our new board to deliver growth, value for our members and progress for the industry,” Spear said.
