New ownership for Baskin-Robbins

 

baskin robbins 3Baskin-Robbins Australia is under new management, following a month old deal with joint venture partner, Palm Oasis Ventures.

Baskin-Robbins was formerly owned by US-based parent company Dunkin’ Brands, who took over the management of the Australian arm following the collapse of previous master franchisee, Allied Brands.

Palm Oasis Ventures is jointly owned, with UAE-based Galadari Brothers Group owning an 80 per cent stake, and Dunkin’ Brands Group owning 20 per cent. Galadari Brothers Group has been the licensee of the Baskin-Robbins brand in the UAE for 35 years where is has 500 parlours. Palm Oasis Ventures will manage the joint interests of both companies in Australia.

As a result of the new ownership structure, Roger Mussalli has been appointed as director of Palm Oasis Ventures, and GM of Baskin-Robbins, overseeing the development of Baskin-Robbins in Australia. Mussalli will be is based in Brisbane.

Mussalli has extensive experience in quick service restaurants, having previously served as Australian national operations manager for both McDonald’s and Hungry Jack’s, and as GM of operations for QSR Holdings, owner of the Red Rooster, Chicken Treat, and Oporto brands in Australia.
The remit for the new management is to growing the Baskin-Robbins parlour network in Australia by 200 new parlours over the next 10 years, to a total of over 280 parlours.
