Australia’s largest member-owned retailer, the Co-op, has opened a new store at the Gold Coast’s Griffith University campus.

Located within the Gold Coast University Hospital, the Co-op provides a range of books, non-book products, and medical supplies.

“The Gold Coast University Hospital store adds a unique presence to our existing Griffith University locations, which currently includes the Mt Gravatt, Nathan, Conservatorium of Music and Logan campuses,” said Peter Knock, CEO of the Co-Op.

“We will, as we currently do across university communities within Australia, actively support students by giving back to them through scholarships and sponsorships, and will implement this throughout Griffith University. It’s what we do, and what we are passionate about,” added Knock.

Formed in 1958, today the Co-op serves more than 500,000 students annually and sells more than 1.5 million textbooks and general books each year.

The Co-op has 53 stores nationwide.
