Man charged over shopping centre shooting

handcuffsA man has been charged with shooting at a car in western Sydney in what police believe was a bikie related incident.

A 24 year old man has been charged after shots were fired at a Penrith shopping centre about 6.15pm on Sunday.

Police arrested him at the scene and allegedly seized a loaded 9mm pistol, additional ammunition and an amount of white powder believed to be amphetamine.

The 24 year old complained of chest pain, was taken to Nepean Hospital and released on Monday morning.

He has been charged with firing in a public place, possessing an unregistered firearm and possessing a prohibited drug.

He was refused bail and is due to face Penrith Local Court on Tuesday.
