Lovisa chairman dies

unnamedChairman of Lovisa and and Cash Converters’ audit commitee, David Carter, has died.

Carter joined the Lovisa board in 2014, with the company stating “in a short space of time David had built a great working relationship with the Lovisa team and board members”.

Carter was also non-executive director and chair of the audit committee of Cash Converters International Limited and a non-executive director of Genetic Technologies.

Cash Converters said Carter had only joined the board recently, however, “during his short tenure he clearly demonstrated his commitment to and understanding of the Cash Converters business. His particpation would have added significant value to the group”.

He was also a former chairman of Thorn Group Limited,  which operates the Radio Rentals retail network, as well as Azure Healthcare Limited and a non-executive director of VENCorp.

Lovisa has elected Paul Cave as interim chairman.

Cave has been an independent director of Lovisa Holdings since Lovisa’s initial public offering in December.
