Lorna Jane to launch in New Zealand

LornaActivewear label Lorna Jane will launch in New Zealand next year in a move the retailer said aligns with the company’s goal of taking the brand global.

Lorna Jane currently sends over 5000 orders a month to New Zealand, which the retailer described as a major opportunity.

“We believe New Zealand is the ideal opportunity to build this direct to customer model,” said Lorna Jane CEO, Bill Clarkson said.

“We want to cut out the noise and create a completely seamless experience.”

The retailer’s New Zealand venture will focus on a new hybrid sales model that will see the brand generate a greater emphasis on online and mobile sales.

A distribution and logistics centre location in Auckland has been confirmed and Lorna Jane will be open for business in New Zealand in early 2018.

“This initiative demonstrates the company’s effort to continue to aim for market leader status in innovating the customer experience,” the company said in a statement.

“With physical brick and mortar stores becoming less desirable and growth in online shopping not set to slow down we believe New Zealand is the perfect market to trial this prototype.”
