Homewares e-tailer launches in New Zealand

TheHomeAustralian homewares e-tailer, The Home, has launched in the New Zealand market this week.

Owned under the Lux Group family and reporting $25 million in revenue for FY16, the e-commerce retailer said it is expecting a quick uptake with customers across the ditch.

“For years we’ve had regular requests from New Zealand customers, and now feels like the right time to expand our offering,” said The Home CEO, Alexandra Mills.

The Home works on a flash deal basis and releases daily sales to its subscriber database of over 700,000. The company said it places an emphasis on quality products at discounted prices and has seen steady year on year growth since its beginnings in 2012.

“New Zealanders love homewares just as much as Australians, so we’re very excited to be able to offer quality and on-trend items are affordable prices,” said Mills.

Most of the current Australian range will be available in New Zealand, including bed and bath, soft furnishing and décor.

The expansion follows Lux Group’s recent renaming from AussieCommerce, reflecting the global growth of the start-up turned medium-sized business. The company currently also owns and operates New Zealand group-buying sites DailyDo and TreatMe.
