H&M to open ninth Queensland store

H&MSwedish fashion retailer H&M announced it will open a new store at the Robina Town Centre on the Gold Coast on August 2.

Spanning 2800sqm and set over two levels, the new store will be H&M’s ninth store to open in Queensland.

The new place will feature apparel, underwear and accessories for Men, Women, Kids, Baby and the retailer’s Home concept.

The retailer confirmed the opening of the new store after it recently announced two new openings in Melbourne later this year.

Last month, H&M has posted a drop in profits for the first half of the year, dragged down the mass of unsold clothes which has piled up over the years.

The world’s second largest fast fashion retailer said its inventory levels have increased further and it has suffered from logistics issues that interrupted shipments, which, according to Group CEO Karl Johan Persson said, they are “gradually correcting”.

H&M already has 29 stores in the country with new stores soon to open at Adelaide, SA and Queensland.
