Highpoint set for non-stop Christmas trade

Thousands of shoppers are expected to descend upon Highpoint Shopping Centre in Melbourne tonight, as 500 stores including western Melbourne’s first David Jones, international retailers Zara, Topshop, Apple and Samsung will keep their doors open until midnight.

Highpoint expects more than 2 million customers will pass through the doors in December, with the majority of this traffic visiting during the extended Christmas trading hours.

From December 18 until December 22, Highpoint will trade from 9am until midnight. Following that Highpoint will be open for 32-hours of non-stop trade from 9am on Wednesday December 23 to 5pm on Thursday December 24, with 185,000 shoppers anticipated to visit during the 32-hour trade period.

Highpoint has implemented a traffic management system, allowing for real-time data on all car parks in centre.
