Harrolds announces closure of boutique at Crown

Harrolds on Monday announced the upcoming closure of its boutique at Melbourne’s Crown Casino. The store closure is due to the completion of the lease, the luxury department store said.

The boutique has offered end-of-season luxury pieces at reduced prices since 1997, but the retailer is shifting its focus to its flagship stores, a spokesperson said.

The retailer currently has flagship stores in Melbourne, Sydney the Gold Coast, as well as an outlet store in Sydney’s Birkenhead Point, which opened last year.

The Birkenhead Point outlet functions primarily as a way to clear excess stock, the spokesperson said, making the Melbourne boutique redundant.

In the lead up to the store closure on December 21, Harrolds is offering a discount of up to 70 per cent, starting this Wednesday.

The boutique offers men’s tailoring, casual wear, sneakers and accessories by the likes of Harrolds Private Label, Lardini, Thom Browne, Acne Studios and Fear of God among others, and a range of women’s shoes and ready to wear from Tom Ford, Saint Laurent, Manolo Blahnik, Attico, Simone Rocha and more.
