Entries now open for the 2019 National Retail Awards

One of the greatest challenges for any retail business owner or manager is attracting and retaining the best staff. Multiple workplace surveys have shown that simply offering an attractive pay packet is no longer enough.

Younger staff in particular want to work in businesses that recognise and reward their achievements, and celebrate their successes.

The 2019 National Retail Awards are a perfect opportunity to recognise those staff members who go the extra mile for your customers, and to showcase your business as a leader in customer service and employment. Hosted by the National Retail Association, the National Retail Awards is Australia’s premier retail industry celebration.

CEO Dominique Lamb said the Association hosted and promoted the awards as part of its commitment to members and the wider retail industry to constantly drive innovation and better service standards.

“We know that retail is always being challenged and disrupted with new players and concepts,” Lamb said.

“But we also know that those businesses that survive and thrive are the ones who provide the best service to their customers, and are constantly looking for new and better ways to do business.

“We want to encourage that kind of thinking, by recognising the leading participants in the industry and sharing their stories and experience with everyone.”

Entries to the 2019 National Retail Awards close on Friday, June 14. There are over 13 awards across three categories of retail.

All finalists will receive a complimentary ticket to the Gala event (valued at $230), to be held at The Star Sydney on Wednesday, September 4.

“If your business or someone in it has a great story to tell, you should nominate. And even if you think you aren’t ready this year, consider coming along to the awards night to hear how the best in the business are working.”
