Eastland turns art gallery

bromley-1Melbourne shopping centre, Eastland, has teamed up with artist, David Bromley, to showcase an exhibition of art as part of the centre’s $665 million redevelopment.

Described as an “urban explosion of culture, character, and beauty”, the exhibition will feature Bromley’s largest mural to date, woven throughout the centre, spanning over 1600sqm.

“Art is such an integral part of our society and is so vital to a community’s wellbeing and growth. Together with Eastland, we seek to bring a wonderful art showcase that would normally be confined to a major state or regional gallery or festival,” said Bromley.

Eastland’s centre manager, Steve Edgerton, believes the collaboration with Bromley will transport the community into a new world that compliments the striking design and architecture of the new Eastland.

“The collaboration with David demonstrates our commitment to transform Eastland into a destination which is of and for the community. Providing access to such wonderful and evocative art is just the beginning of the activations we have planned for the new Eastland,” said Edgerton.

The exhibition will be accessible on 29 October.

Bromley will also open a Bromley & Co store located at Town Square, which will run until early 2016.
