Dymocks makes board appointment

 

business, businessmen, handshakeThe Dymocks Group has appointed an international expert in field robotics and intelligent systems as a non executive director.

University of Sydney robotics expert, Professor Salah Sukkarieh, will join the Dymocks board in November.

Dymocks chairman, John Forsyth, said Sukkarieh would bring a fresh dimension to the group, in particular his work in optimisation, data analytics, and applied decision making.

“Dymocks will benefit from Salah’s expertise and the way he approaches problem solving,” Forsyth said.

Dymocks is well known for its bookstores but also has subsidiaries which operate quick service restaurants, manufacture confectionery for domestic and international markets, and farm macadamias and avocados. The company maintains a sizable property investment and development portfolio and securities portfolio.

Salah Sukkarieh is professor of Robotics and Intelligent Systems, School of Aerospace Mechanical and Mechatronic Engineering; and director of Research and Innovation at the Australian Centre for Field Robotics at the University of Sydney.
