The Australian dollar has risen over the weekend to 74.27 US cents from 73.60 US cents on Friday.

One Australian dollar also buys 82.71 Japanese yen, from 82.70; 63.32 euro cents, from 62.22; 56.58 British pence, from 56.56; and 109.27 NZ cents, from 109.13.
