Director swap at Woolworths

Dave-Chambers-Progressive-MD-2016Woolworths Australia says Dave Chambers will return to the role of MD of Progressive Enterprises, its New Zealand grocery subsidiary.

He will lead a team of 18,000 and a network of 183 Countdown stores.

Pat McEntee has been acting MD and will return to Australia to take up a senior role in the Woolworths Food business.

Chambers has spent the past year as director of Woolworths Supermarkets in Australia. Previously, he was MD of Progressive Enterprises from July 2011 to January 2015 and has served the company since 1979 and his retail management experience has stretched across store, area and divisional management roles.

Brad Banducci, MD of Woolworths Food Group says Chambers has made an important contribution to Woolworths Australia during the past year, “and I know he will provide strong leadership to the Progressive Enterprises business into the future”.

Added Chambers: “While I have a long standing history with Progressive, returning in 2016 is really a new beginning. I’ve loved working in Sydney over the past 12 months and am looking forward to rejoining a great team that is focussed on bringing the best prices and a terrific shopping experience to Countdown customers.”
