Daily deals sites consolidate

Three month old daily deal website Kid U Not has bought three of its rivals – Mum Daily Deals, Deals for Mum and Kiddie Coupons.

Kid U Not claims to have built a Facebook following of 13,000 and building its membership by 50 per cent a month as families embrace the daily deals concept.

Kid U Not director Caroline Selka said her site has struck a chord with Australian families looking for ways to make ends meet, claiming genuine deep-discounted deals, offering savings of up to 90 per cent.

“We’re delighted to have Mum Daily Deals, Deals for Mum and Kiddie Coupons join the Kid U Not family. This is an important step towards our goal of becoming Australia’s broadest family e-marketplace and the online destination of choice for incredible offers and savings on all things babies, kids and families,” said Selka.

Kid U Not is working with a host of retailers, manufacturers, entertainment destinations and service providers to offer compelling daily deals across a range of categories to its members, providing value and variety.

“In addition, Kid U Not donates to a selection of children’s charities, including Sydney Children’s Hospital Foundation, Smile Foundation, Samuel Morris Foundation, Royal Children’s Hospital Foundation Brisbane, and the Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation Perth. Members are invited to select which charity they would like to support,” said Selka.

Over the next three months, she says, Kid U Not will be unveiling the next stage of its online growth strategy.

“Being a budget conscious mother of two young children, I realised there was a clear gap in the market for a daily-deal site that helps ease the ongoing financial costs associated with raising and entertaining kids so I established Kid U Not. I’m what you call a true ‘mumpreneur’,” Selka said.
