Coffee Shop of the Year named

coffeeRetail Food Group (RFG) coffee chain, Michel’s Patisserie, has been named Coffee Shop of the Year for 2013 after winning Roy Morgan’s annual Customer Satisfaction Awards.

The independent study, which surveyed more than 50,000 consumers, found Michel’s Patisserie to be the highest rating coffee shop by customers for the third consecutive year, outperforming fellow coffee chains including McCafe, Muffin Break, The Coffee Club, Gloria Jeans, Hudsons Coffee, Donut King, and Starbucks.

Tracey Catterall, MD of Michel’s Patisserie, said the award was a reflection of Michel’s dedication to coffee excellence from crop to cup.

“Michel’s Patisserie has more than 600 qualified baristas working throughout our network of over 300 outlets, and we make millions of perfect cups of coffee every year,” said Catterall.

“Australia’s only internationally certified Quality Coffee Grader and Roaster, Mick Kiely, oversees the roasting of our premium coffee blend in our own dedicated roasting facility.

“We put our Baristas through rigorous training as part of their nationally recognised certification process so we can ensure consistency and quality in every cup of coffee made at any of our stores.

“Our goal is to have the best Baristas in Australia, making the best tasting coffee for our loyal customers.”

RFG owns the Donut King, Brumby’s Bakery, Michel’s Patisserie, bb’s cafe, Esquires, The Coffee Guy, Pizza Capers Gourmet Kitchen and Crust Gourmet Pizza franchise systems.
