Coco Republic expanding to Gold Coast

Australian furniture and design brand Coco Republic is set to open its first boutique on the Gold Coast, located in Brickworks, Southport, in July 2019.

The brand’s outdoor range will be a focus for the 725sqm showroom-style location, which will integrate an extra 350sqm of retail space from a nearby Max Sparrow showroom, to be re-branded under the Coco Republic label.

“We are thrilled to have secured the extra space at Brickworks on the Gold Coast and excited that we will be offering for the first time our renowned Coco Republic outdoor range to the Gold Coast,” Coco Republic creative director and head of buying Anthony Spon-Smith said.

“The new showroom will feature an outdoor courtyard showcasing our designs and to deliver breathtaking interiors suitable for Gold Coast homes.”

The store will feature a curated range of more than 300 product styles.

The furniture retailer recently announced its first international store – a 1000sqm showroom in Newmarket, Auckland – as well as a deal to sell its products in US showroom HD Buttercup.

“I think we’ve got a steady approach to growth, and we’re really now in a position that when a unique and compelling proposition presents itself… we’re not forcing out growth, we’re just taking advantage of those opportunities,” Coco Republic chief executive Nicholas Foster recently told Inside Retail.

Part of this growth strategy has been enabled by a new 11,000sqm logistics hub in Greystanes, New South Wales, which will form the backbone of the business’s Australian and New Zealand operations.
