Best & Less pranks shoppers

bestless-surprisedDiscount department store Best & Less has pranked Sydney city shoppers with a fake fashion boutique.

The Australian chain last week opened a playful Westfield Sydney pop up store called ‘The L&B Experiment’.

The store was designed to look like a pricey boutique, but stocked Best & Less value driven products.

Fashion items stocked in The L&B Experiment store came with price tags as high as $140.

When customers took the items to the checkout for purchase they were told the real price: items really only costed about $40.

Surprised customer reactions were caught on camera and played on national television last Thursday night.

Best & Less developed the idea with agency Banjo to show that fashion and affordability aren’t mutually exclusive.

The retailer’s started with the insight that two in three women think “fashion is overpriced” and 54 per cent feel guilty when they splurge.
