The Australian dollar has jumped to its highest mark since early August, reaching 73.78 US cents Monday, up from 73.15 on Friday.
Last Friday, the local currency largely held onto recent gains and was buying 73.15 US cents at 1630 AEDT from 73.16 on Thursday.
