Australian dollar strengthens

The Australian dollar has risen Monday buying 73.07 US cents at 0800 AEDT from the 72.68 cents on Friday.

Amid the uncertainty, the local currency has climbed for the first time since August, trading above US cents from Friday’s 72.68 US cents at 1630 AEDT, holding on to gains from Thursday when it had bounced to 72.74 US cents on unexpectedly strong employment data.
