Australian dollar rises

The Australian dollar has risen Wednesday, buying 68.68 US cents from 68.33 US cents on Tuesday.

One Australian dollar buys: 74.24 Japanese yen, from 74.23; 62.00 euro cents, from 62.39; 54.92 British pence, from 55.22; and 108.00 NZ cents, from 108.25.

Yesterday morning, the local currency fell against the greenback, buying 68.64 US cents from 68.73 US cents on Monday.

It was at 74.23 Japanese yen, from 73.88; 62.39 euro cents, from 62.01;  55.22 British pence, from 54.96; and 108.25 NZ cents, from 107.74.

On Monday, the Aussie was slightly higher against the greenback, buying 68.75 US cents from 68.74 US cents on Friday.
