The Australian dollar has dropped Tuesday, buying 71.58 US cents from 71.69 US cents on Monday.
At the Asian market open, major currencies were weaker against the US dollar in US and European trade compared with the Asia close.
At 0930 (AEST), the local unit was buying 71.58 US cents.
