American Apparel has appointed Scott Brubaker as interim CEO and Hassan Natha as executive VP and CFO, effective immediately.
Brubaker, formerly MD of Alvarez & Marsal, replaces John Luttrell as interim CEO, who was appointed to the role earlier this year following the ousting of American Apparel’s former chief and founder of the brand, Dov Charney.
In June, the board of American Apparel voted to replace Charney as chairman and notified him of its intent to terminate his employment as president and CEO following allegations of misconduct.
Luttrell, who had also been serving as interim CFO is resigning from the fashion chain.
Prior to joining American Apparel in February 2011, Luttrell was executive VP and CFO of Old Navy, The Wet Seal, and Cost Plus.
Allan Mayer, co-chairman of the board, said the appointments of Brubaker and Natha will bolster the company’s senior executive team.
“We are confident that their experience and leadership will help the company achieve its goals, and we look forward to working with both of them,” Mayer said.
As part of the management reshuffle, the group has also promoted long time employees, Patricia Honda and Nicolle Gabbay, to the positions of president of wholesale and president of retail, respectively.
