Discount supermarket group Aldi more than doubled its Australian profits within three years.
According to documents submitted to the Senate inquiry into corporate tax avoidance, the pre-tax profit from the company’s Australian operations rose from $121 million in 2010 to $261 million in 2013.
Since arriving in Australia in 2001, the German retailer has established a network of 373 stores in Queensland, ACT, NSW and Victoria, with plans to open another 120 in South Australia and West Australia.
