ADVERTORIAL: Cimagine launches in Australia

Cimagine 2Octomedia has announced a partnership with Cimagine, the world’s most advanced Augmented Reality engine for displaying high-poly 3D models that do not drift in any environment (including outdoors), and is truly markerless.

Cimagine’s technology has already been tested and implemented by Shop Direct, the UK’s fourth largest online retailer and home to digital department store brands including Very.co.uk and Littlewoods.com.

Shop Direct, which has annual sales of more than £1.7 billion, has integrated Cimagine’s platform with its Littlewoods brand’s mobile website. Littlewoods.com shoppers can now visualize furniture items in their own surroundings at a click of a button, from any angle or distance, at 10 times higher resolution than the industry standard. Unlike similar solutions, Cimagine provides an immediate and realistic AR user experience, without the need to print reference markers.

The ease of integration on the retailer’s side is significant: A single line of code links the product page to the Cimagine platform. All the user has to do is click a button, and within seconds, the high resolution model appears as an AR object viewable through their mobile device.

“We’re always on the lookout for disruptive technologies from innovative companies. Cimagine’s technology gives our customers a differentiated shopping experience, and eliminates a major barrier in e-commerce sales. By letting customers virtually see how products would look in their homes, we reduce the perceived risk that’s sometimes associated with online shopping,” said Jonathan Wall, e-commerce director at Shop Direct. “Cimagine’s approach is very retailer friendly. Their SaaS solution was easy to integrate and the team was open to accommodating our customers’ needs”.

Nati Harpaz, CEO of Octomedia, stated: “Cimagine is really the next step in the evolution of digital shopping enabling shoppers to get a better feeling to how the product will look at home whether they are on the shop floor or at home”.

“As a company that is heavily involved in monitoring the latest trends and developments in the retail industry Octomedia is well positioned to bring these technologies successfully to market,” Harpaz said.
