ARA partners with legal firm to provide targeted advice to members

The Australian Retailers’ Association has partnered with specialist legal firm Hitch Advisory in order to bring industry-wide legal advice to its members.

According to ARA chief executive Paul Zahra, the partnership will cover advice on areas such as government legislation, tenancy services, mergers and acquisitions, and educating SMB retailers to address the legal gap many smaller retailers feel.

“The pandemic period has accelerated a decade’s worth of change and innovation for our sector,” Zahra said.

“As our sector transforms, the ARA is working with a select community of partners to help our members capitalise on this growth. Hitch Advisory is undoubtedly one of the best firms in the retail space with expertise across most of the major industry issues that will feature throughout this period of retail rebirth.”

ARA members will be able to access a free consultation with the firm, as well as additional support, education and materials.

Hitch Advisory co-founder and principal Olivia Hitchens said the team is thrilled to be working with the ARA, and is looking forward to providing advice and guidance to its members.

“Navigating retailers through these unprecedented times and being an advocate for the industry is something we are very passionate about,” Hitchens said.

“Whilst Hitch Advisory already advices a large number of ARA members, this partnership will allow us the opportunity to work with additional retailers and to support the ARA in delivering its initiatives and to increase the existing value delivered to members.”
