Tommy Hilfiger to spotlight social entrepreneurs trying to fix fashion

Tommy Hilfiger is encouraging entrepreneurs across the globe to enter its ‘fashion frontier challenge’ – a program that seeks to help start-ups develop social solutions to positively impact the fashion industry – in an effort to build on its own sustainability program.

The challenge program, which has handed out $610,000 (€350,000) over the past two years, will be judged partially by consumers and strives to support BIPOC entrepreneurs working to create a more inclusive fashion space.

Winners of the program will receive a total of $348,000 (€200,000) awarded between them, as well as a year-long mentorship with Tommy Hilfiger internal experts, a year-long INSEAD mentorship and a place on its social enterprising program.

“[The program] puts a spotlight on entrepreneurs putting their heart and soul into making a positive social impact in our industry,” said Tommy Hilfiger.

“This year, we want to showcase an even more diverse range of perspectives, ideas and communities by supporting BIPOC entrepreneurs. We have a responsibility to drive change across the fashion landscape, and I am honored to further our commitment to inclusivity and equal representation through the upcoming Tommy Hilfiger fashion frontier challenge.”
