Ted Baker accepting pre-worn clothes during May in partnership with Vinnies

Fashion firm Ted Baker will, for the month of May, accept pre-worn coats in its NSW, VIC, QLD and SA stores as part of a partnership with Vinnies.

Accepted coats will be resold through Vinnies to raise money in support of a range of community services such as soup vans for the homeless and needy, crisis accommodation, and rental assistance for families struggling financially.

“With the economic fallout from the pandemic on Australia’s major employment sectors, the end of JobKeeper and the cuts to JobSeeker, we are beginning to see increasing numbers of people approaching us for assistance,” said national chair at Vinnies Retail Kevin Mercer.

“We are pleased to be partnering with Ted Baker Australia to help support on-the-ground assistance to people doing it tough.”

In an effort to encourage the return pre-loved coats, for the donation customers will receive a 30 per cent discount on any in-store Ted Baker purchase should they take part in the initiative. Australians on average buy up 27kg of clothing each year, and send 23kg of textiles to landfill.
