Taco Bell adding fifth New South Wales store this May

Mexican food chain Taco Bell is expanding its presence in New South Wales with a fifth store, to be located at Green Square, Sydney.

The store will be launched within Crown Group’s Infinity Square retail precinct in May 2021, will be located directly above the Green Square train station, and will offer a dedicated delivery and pickup entrance.

“We are really excited to add Taco Bell, such a sought-after global brand, to Infinity Square,” said Crown Group chief executive Iwan Sunito.

The quick service chain already has 20 stores located across New South Wales, Queensland and Victoria, and has said previously it hopes to reach 60 stores across Australia and New Zealand by 2024.

And while take up of the brand has been positive, franchise-owner Restaurant Brands said earlier this year, costs of setting up the foundations of the new business hit the group’s Australian operations.

“The focus for Taco Bell in New Zealand and Australia remains on investing to build brand presence with more than ten stores expected to open by December 2021,” the business said in it’s full year report.

“The significance of the brand’s sales will continue to growth as additional stores are opened, however, overall the financial impact of the brand on the group will remain slight for the coming year.”
