Online activewear marketplace Sportitude is shutting down after 15 years of operations.

On its website, Sportitude said it is merging with RunDNA, which has stores in Hindmarsh and Fullarton in South Australia.

“After more than 15 years of building and growing Sportitude, the journey has now come to an end – for both the business and for me,” said Sportitude founder Roumen Staykov in a LinkedIn post.

“What started as an ambitious idea for a social networking platform for grassroots sports evolved into one of Australia’s leading running-specialty e-commerce businesses, scaling to eight-figure revenue and eventually becoming the #2 privately-owned e-commerce retailer in our niche.”

Staykov thanked Sportitude’s teams, partners, and customers.

Sportitude is the latest Australian e-commerce retailer to stop trading, following Catch and Hardtofind.

Sportitude’s closure comes as a surprise after the brand posted on Facebook last August: “Sportitude is here to stay, committed to providing the best running gear and support for every runner.”
