Hallenstein Brothers gets new CEO

Hallenstein Brothers will soon have a new CEO – the menswear retailer’s third in two years.

Stuart Duncan, CEO of the chain’s listed parent company Hallenstein Glasson Holdings, revealed Monday that Rob Brown will take on the role from October 17. He will replace Jason Barrow who resigned effective May 1 after a decade with the company.

Brown has been a brand manager at True Alliance since 2009, most recently managing the Ben Sherman brand. In that role, he was responsible for product sourcing, buying, design, marketing, wholesale and retail sales, brand positioning and organisational development.

Over the past 20 years Brown has had a “uniquely diverse” fashion retail background, said Duncan, spanning strategic planning, brand management and customer service.

“Rob’s mandate is the ongoing development of the strong and capable executive team, whilst continuing to build upon the strategic initiatives within the business,” he said in a stock exchange filing.
