US wholesale giant Costco continues to disrupt the Australian market, with a 39.4 per cent year-on-year increase in profit.
In its financial report for the year ending August 31, 2025, the business reported a yearly income of $10.8 billion. With 923 locations worldwide, the company currently employs nearly 13,000 staff.
The Australian Financial Review (AFR) reported that the Australian portion of the business, which is also responsible for operations in Taiwan, saw profits of $389.1 million, up from $279 million in 2024.
Costco currently has 15 warehouses in Australia. After opening its first site in Docklands, Melbourne, in 2009, the business plans to open another site in Victoria and one in WA by 2027.
The Sydney Morning Herald has reported that Costco’s after-tax profits now exceed those of Aldi, Australia’s third-largest supermarket by market share.
